The CANZAC® Armour-Grind Joint is a purpose-engineered armoured construction joint developed specifically for ground and polished concrete floors.
Combining heavy-duty steel joint protection with precision-bonded grindable polymer strips along the top of the steel rails, Armour-Grind provides contractors with a built-in grinding guide for greater control over the final grinding depth.
Traditional armoured joints can require the concrete to be placed and finished proud of the steel joint to allow for the subsequent grinding process. Armour-Grind eliminates the need for this approach. The integrated grindable strips establish the grinding allowance directly at the joint, allowing the concrete to be placed and finished more naturally while providing the grinding contractor with a clear depth reference.
As the floor is ground, the polymer guide strips are progressively removed until the steel armour rails are reached, providing a clear indication that the specified grinding depth has been achieved.
The result is a faster, more controlled grinding process, reduced risk of contact between grinding equipment and exposed steel, improved joint detailing and a cleaner finished polished concrete floor. These benefits include faster grinding, reduced equipment wear and lower risk of concrete joint arris damage.
