The CANZAC MONSTA-DOWEL® is a high-performance plate dowel system engineered to transfer loads across construction joints in heavy duty industrial concrete slabs and pavements.
Designed for applications where a single row of standard 10mm plate dowels cannot provide the required load transfer, MONSTA-DOWEL® combines a 20mm thick, Grade 300 steel plate with a purpose-designed sleeve that accommodates lateral movement as the joint opens.
The constant-width plate avoids the additional reduction in effective bearing area associated with tapered dowel plates. The tapered sleeve geometry provides increasing lateral movement capacity as joint opening increases.
Manufactured in New Zealand from structural steel conforming to AS/NZS 3679.1, MONSTA-DOWEL® is available hot-dip galvanised in accordance with AS/NZS 4680, or in black steel for internal use.
MONSTA-DOWEL® is positioned centrally within slabs 200mm thick and above, providing an alternative to double-layer plate dowel arrangements where design requirements permit.
