Heavy-duty armoured construction joint for industrial floors
CANZAC® TERAJOINT MonoPour is a prefabricated, leave-in-place armoured construction joint engineered for heavy-duty industrial concrete floors, warehouses, distribution centres and large slab-on-ground projects.
The MonoPour system allows concrete to be placed on both sides of the construction joint during the same pour. This gives contractors greater flexibility when planning large floor placements while providing the edge protection, controlled movement and load transfer required from a high-performance industrial floor joint.
TERAJOINT MonoPour combines three critical functions within one complete system
- Permanent armouring of both concrete slab edges
- Load transfer between adjoining slab panels
- Free horizontal movement caused by shrinkage and temperature change
The system can also be used as a conventional stop-pour or day joint when adjoining slab panels are placed separately.
Pour both sides of the construction joint at once
Conventional construction-joint methods often require one slab panel to be poured before the adjoining panel can be completed.
TERAJOINT MonoPour allows both sides of the armoured construction joint to be poured during the same concrete placement. Its prefabricated, freestanding design removes the need for conventional timber stop-end formwork between same-day slab pours.
The result is a faster and more flexible floor-placement method with accurate joint positioning and permanent armoured edge protection already built into the slab.
Permanent protection for concrete joint edges
Construction joints in industrial concrete floors are vulnerable to repeated impact from forklifts, reach trucks and other hard-wheeled material-handling equipment.
TERAJOINT MonoPour incorporates heavy-duty 40 × 10 mm cold-drawn steel edge rails that protect both concrete arrises. Welded shear connectors anchor the steel profiles securely into the adjoining slab panels, creating a durable connection between the armouring and the concrete floor.
This protects the joint edges against impact damage and reduces the risk of spalling, joint deterioration and ongoing floor maintenance.
Load Transfer within the joint
TERAJOINT MonoPour incorporates high-strength CANZAC Plate dowels to transfer vertical loads between adjoining concrete slab panels.
The plate dowels operate within rigid plastic sleeves, allowing horizontal movement in two directions while controlling differential vertical movement across the construction joint.
This allows the floor to respond naturally to drying shrinkage and thermal movement without compromising load transfer between the adjoining slab panels.

- Concrete slab thickness
- Concrete strength
- Subgrade support
- Applied wheel and point loads
- Anticipated construction-joint opening
- Required load-transfer capacity
Free-movement construction joint
As the concrete cures and the adjoining slab panels shrink, the temporary connections between the steel edge rails release. This allows the construction joint to open in a controlled manner.
TERAJOINT® MonoPour permits horizontal slab movement both perpendicular and parallel to the joint while the integrated dowels continue transferring vertical loads between the slab panels.
The system is suitable for designed construction joint openings of up to 20 mm.
Where an opening greater than 20 mm is anticipated, CANZAC can recommend an alternative wide-movement armoured joint or cover plate joint system like the zig zag curve n straight or armoured coverplate joint.
Designed as part of the complete concrete floor
An industrial floor joint must be selected for more than its steel thickness or dowel size.
The anticipated joint movement, slab thickness, concrete strength, subgrade support, applied loading and type of material-handling equipment must all be considered when designing the construction joint and load-transfer system.
In many situations, the governing factor is the punching-shear capacity of the concrete surrounding the dowels, not the strength of the steel dowel itself.
3 way and 4 way intersections are available in plain steel or Hot Dip galvanised steel .
